UNDP Uganda Annual Report 2014

June 16, 2015

In the past year, UNDP in Uganda continued to make progress in its support to Government and the people of Uganda to achieve sustainable development. Our 2014 Annual report highlights some of our key successes during the year.

These successes include was our support to the development of the National Development Plan (NDP)II which has as a result prioritised key sectors such as agriculture, tourism, minerals, infrastructure and human development. It is also aligned to the Post 2015 agenda which is bringing forth the Sustainable development Goals. Our efforts also saw the set-up of the National Emergency and Coordination Centre (NECOC) as part of support towards disaster risk management.

Special focus is on our priority areas which have been aligned to the global strategic plan and the new five year Country Programme Cycle which starts in 2016. These areas include Democratic Governance, Inclusive and Sustainable Development, Climate and Disaster Resilience and gender equality and women empowerment.

Additionally, it highlights the Post 2015 process in Uganda which is important as we prepare to move from the Millennium Development Goals to the Sustainable Development agenda both at global and national level.
