Strategic Policy Advice
UNDP provides upstream evidence-based policy support to the Government of Uganda in development planning, legal and institutional reform, as well as advocacy that contributes to the achievement of the country’s Vision 2040 and the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). The Country Office also offers policy advisory support to the United Nations System in Uganda through the Resident Coordinator’s Office.

Putting people at the centre of human development
Hon Kirunda Kivejinja, the third Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for East African Affairs, (in white suit) unveiling the National Human Development Report on “Unlocking the development potential of Northern Uganda.” Looking on is UNDP Country Director, Ms Almaz Gebru, Prof Tarsis Kabwegyere, Minister in Charge of General duties and Hon. Rebecca Otengo, State Minister for Northern Uganda. The report is the 8th such report for the Uganda Country office and recommends that catalytic investments in Northern Uganda's agriculture targeting smallholder holders, developing the mining sector, improving infrastructure, addressing land tenure, engaging youth and women productively in economic activity and decision making, enhancing social justice will ensure shared prosperity and well-being for the region and its people.
