Kampala – The Private Sector in Uganda has pledged to adopt the Gender Equality Seal Certification Programme for Public and Private Enterprises – a model pioneered by the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) to help organisations create more equitable conditions for men and women in the work place.

Japan contributes US$4.5m towards refugees and host communities in Uganda

KAMPALA - The Government of Japan has contributed US$4.5m (around 15 billion Ugandan shillings) to the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) ($3.5 million) and the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) ($1 million) in support of the humanitarian response for refugees and Ugandan host communities.
