Good practices, Uganda benchmarks with Ghana

August 4, 2020

Success stories in Africa offer potential home-grown solutions to persistent and complex development challenges that many African countries face. How African countries collaborate in sharing proven good practices can be an important accelerator and multiplier of Africa’s transformation and prosperity of her people and the planet. It is within this context of UNDP’s role as a knowledge broker and thought leader, that the Country Office in Uganda facilitated the benchmarking visit to Ghana for the Government of Uganda delegation co-led by the Minister of General Duties in the Office of the Prime Minister, represented by the Government Chief Whip, Hon. Ruth Nankabirwa, and the UN Resident Coordinator Ms. Rosa Malango.

This report provides valuable insights into Ghana’s experience which offers options for Uganda, and indeed other African countries, to consider in discussions and decision making on how to organize national civic education, coordinate SDG delivery at the highest level in government, strengthen electoral processes, and evolve an inclusive and home-grown national architecture for peace building.
